1 box Duncan Hines butter flavor cake mix
1/2 cup self rising flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup cooking oil
4 eggs
1 cup buttermilk

Icing:
3 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup milk
2 sticks butter
3 tbsp flour
1 tsp vanilla

Mix all together. Beat about 4 minutes until all ingredients are combined. Bake at 325º-350º for 20-25 minutes.

Icing:
1) Mix 3 cups sugar and flour together. Set aside
2) Put 1 stick butter and 1/2 cup sugar in heavy boiler. Cook over medium heat until caramel color. Stir often, it will burn easily.
3) Remove from heat, let set about 3-4 minutes.
4) Add flour and sugar mixture and milk
5) Return to heat and cook until soft boil stage (350º on candy thermometer)
6) Remove from heat, add 1 stick butter then cool about 10 minutes
7) Add vanilla, beat with mixer until able to spread (about 5-10 minutes)
8) Work quickly to layer and frost cake.
