Chicken
1 large cut up chicken

Dumplings
1 ½ c flour
½ t baking powder
½ t salt
½ t parsley
2 T shortening
1 egg
Water

Directions:
Directions:
Place chicken in a heavy pan. Fill halfway with water. Cook until done. Remove from pan, skin, bone and return to pan. Season with salt and pepper.

Mix together flour, baking powder, salt, and parsley. Cut in shortening. Mix in egg. Moisten with water. Roll dough very thin. Cut with knife to desired size. Leave on top of the counter. Let dry out for at least 2 hours. Drop into rapidly boiling broth. Cover with a lid and cook 20 to 30 minutes or until dumplings are done.
