Cornbread Mixture:
1 cup yellow cornmeal
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 (17 oz) can cream style corn
1/4 cup salad oil

Meat Mixture:
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 chopped onion
1 (4 oz.) can green chili
1/2 pound shredded longhorn cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Grease a large iron skillet and place in oven. Turn oven to 350º and allow skilled and oven to preheat together. In a large bowl combine first seven ingredients (Cornbread Mixture) and set aside. Brown meat with onions. Season meat lightly. Remove from heat and add green chili. Remove skillet from oven and pour 1/2 of the cornbread batter into skillet. Add meat mixture evenly over batter. Sprinkle cheese evenly on top of meat. Add the rest of the batter and bake for 35 to 40 minutes at 350º.
