Cake:
3/4 cup butter or margarine
1 3/4 cups sugar
2 squares unsweetened chocolate
2 eggs separated
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup milk
1 cup mashed potatoes (instant works fine)
1 cup nuts, chopped
2 cups cake flour

Icing:
1 pound brown sugar
1 (1/2 pint) whipping cream

Directions:
Directions:
Cake: Cream sugar and butter then add egg yolks, melted chocolate and warm mashed potatoes. Next, add flour. Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into batter mixture. Bake at 350º for 30 to 35 minutes.
Icing: Combine brown sugar and whipping cream and stir until mixed. Cook mixture over medium heat until boiling, stir constantly. Cover turn heat to low and boil until it forms a soft ball stage. Cool and beat until it turns dull. Frost cake with icing.
