1 1/2 cups Crisco
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
3 eggs
1 1/2 cans drained crushed pineapple
1 teaspoon salt
6 cups flour
1 cup chopped maraschino cherries
1 cup nuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream Crisco and sugar in large bowl. Add eggs and drained pineapple. Sift flour, soda, salt and baking powder in another bowl. Alternate adding flour mixture and cherries into sugar mixture. Drop by a teaspoonful onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake until light brown. Use pineapple or cherry juice and powdered sugar for icing. (A good soft cookie.)
