1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 tbsp. water
1 tbsp. white Karo syrup
1/4 cup toasted chopped almonds

Directions:
Directions:
Use low heat at all times. Melt butter and take of stove. Add 1 cup sugar and mix together thoroughly. put back on stove and bring to a hard boil. Take of stove and add water and Karo syrup. Put bake on stove cook to 290º F hard crack stage using a candy thermometer. Remove from stove and mix in toasted chopped almonds. Pour into buttered pan after cooled slightly pour 1/2 cake of melted Ghiradellis Chocolate then sprinkle top with finely chopped walnuts.

This is one of Grandma Clara Ready's favorites. It was always made at Christmas time. There are many memories of this wonderful toffee recipe. It is loaded with sugar but sure tasty.
