1 cup milk
1 cup self-rising flour
1 cup sugar

1 quart or more fruit of choice
Dash of cinnamon
Dash of salt
Optional:
1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
1/2 Tbsp vanilla extract
Dash of nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º.
In a mixing bowl, combine milk, vanilla (optional) flour and sugar. Mix fruit and cinnamon and any combo of the optional ingredients and pour into a greased casserole dish. I usually use a round deep earthen dish, but you could use Pyrex or whatever you have handy. Pour milk mixture over the fruit and combine gently. Pour melted butter over the top. Bake until a brown crust rises over the fruit, about 25-30 minutes

Personal Notes:
Of course, being me, I monkey with Mom's original recipe, which calls for 3/4 cups of everything and none of the optional stuff. However, it is pretty foolproof and so easy. Great for blueberries, fresh peaches, apples; whatever is in season. Whipping cream is good with it and vanilla ice cream is even better.
