1 cup hard butter 1 tsp lemon flavoring
11/2 cups sugar 1 tsp almond flavoring
3 cups flour 1 tsp vanilla
1 tbsp baking powder 3 eggs
1 cup hot milk 1 lb cherries

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar until fluffy and white. Beat in eggs one at a time. Add flavoring. Mix dry ingredients together and add alternately with hot milk to the butter mixture. Lightly flour the cherries and mix into batter. Grease and flour tube pan and fill with the mixture. Bake at 350 for 1 hour

This is recipe from Donna Dawe in Old Shop, my sewing buddy. She said the secret to a good cherry cake is when you add the milk and the flour mixture, just fold it in and do not over mix....just stir long enough that it is mixed through.
