8 cups cereal (mix and max - your choice - you can use Rice Chex, Wheat Chex, Corn Chex, Cinnamon Apple Jacks, Quaker Oat Squares, chow mein noodles (16 oz.) package)
2 cups pecans chopped
1/2 cup corn syrup
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup margarine
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
Small candy, caramel bits or dried fruit (as much as you like)

Heat oven to 250°. Combine in a 9"x13" pan 8 cups of your choice of cereals and 2 cups chopped pecans. Combine corn syrup, brown sugar, 1/4 cup melted margarine and mix with your cereal. Microwave on high for 90 seconds, then stir. Heat on high for another 30 to 90 seconds until mixture starts to boil. Stir in vanilla and baking soda. Pour mixture over cereal, stirring to coat evenly. Spread mixture on a cookie sheet and bake for one hour stirring every 20 minutes. Once cooled you may add bits of dried fruit or small candy pieces such as M&M's, Reeses Pieces or Carmel Bites. Turn out onto wax paper to cool.
