5 pounds tart cooking apples (peeled, cored and quartered) about 12 cups
3 cups apple cider
2 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

Directions:
Directions:
In a large sauce pan, bring apples and cider to a boil, reduce heat. Simmer covered 20 to 25 minutes or until apples are tender. Puree 2 cups of apples at a time until smooth in blender. Transfer to 13"x9"x2" baking dish (include any juice left in pot). Stir sugar, cinnamon and cloves into apples. Bake at 300º for 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until thick when spooned. Stir every 1/2 hour to prevent edges from overcooking. Fill hot sterilized jars and process 15 minutes.
