6 eggs
3/4 cup sugar
4 cups scalded milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
Dash nutmeg

Beat eggs slightly. Add sugar to scalded milk and vanilla. Mix thoroughly. Pour into GLASS ONLY dish greased with oil (casserole dish, pan or individual custard cups). Sprinkle top with nutmeg. Bake in preheated oven at 325° for 50 to 60 minutes. To test a baked custard, insert knife in center of custard; it is done if knife comes out clean. Remove custard from pan. May be served hot or cold.

To help remove custard from pan, place casserole dish in a pan of hot water so that it comes half way up the sides of the casserole dish or custard cups.
