3 cups brown sugar
3/4 pound butter or 1-1/2 cups
3 eggs
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoon water
2 cups flour (approximately)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and butter; add eggs and beat well. Dissolve soda and water. Sift baking powder and flour. Add more flour (if needed) to make stiff dough. Make into a roll and wrap in wax paper and chill in refrigerator. Will keep several days. Slice and bake about 15 minutes at 350°.

If you dropped by Cora's house she would always have some baked for you or a batch in the freezer ready to bake. This recipe has been passed around to many families, Ed Riggs always made these wonderful cookies for all to enjoy at the family cemetery clean up days.
