2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup molasses
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 1/2 cups buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chopped nuts
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup cooking oil
3 eggs

Frosting:
1 egg yolk
1 stick soft butter or margarine
1 box powdered sugar
1 teaspoon flavoring

Cake:
Mix brown sugar, white sugar, molasses, oil, eggs, vanilla and buttermilk. Combine flour, spices, salt, soda and baking powder. Mix well and combine with moist mixture. Fold in nuts. Pour into 3 round greased and floured pans.

Frosting:
Beat butter, powdered sugar and egg yolk together. Add flavoring (vanilla or almond).
