13 cups water
5 cups vinegar
1 cup white sugar
1 cup pickling salt
dill (fresh)
cucumbers
mustard seed
alum
bay leaves(optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Soak cucs in a cold ice water for 2 hours. Dry and pack into jars. Place a dill head in bottom of each jar before packing cucs. Add 1 tsp. mustard seed and alum the size of a dime to the top of each jar. Add a bay leaf to each jar if desired. Pour boiling brine over cucs in jars. Seal. Enough brine for 8 quart jars.
