2 lbs brown sugar
1 pint vinegar (white distilled)
1 oz. stick cinnamon
4 whole cloves

Boil syrup for 20 minutes and pour over peaches in canning jars, seal and store. Serve peaches over lettuce bed with cottage cheese.

Grandma Clara Ready would can these peaches and then would serve them over a lettuce bed and put cottage cheese in the center topped with a cherry. She would also make pears the same way except she would die the pears green.
