3 cans whole plum tomatoes(35 oz.can)put through the blender.
3 cans tomato paste(6oz.cans)
1 large onion chopped 5 cloves garlic(minced)
olive oil(enough to brown meat)
fresh basil(chopped up)
salt and pepper to taste
1 tsp.sugar (or half a grated carrot)
18 oz.water
Meat for gravy:1 1/2 lbs.Italian sausage
sweet or hot,or both.
1 lb.hamburg
1/2 ground pork(mix with Hamburg)
small piece pork butt.
Meatball Mixture:
hamburg
ground pork
2 eggs
2 cloves minced garlic
1/4c.Italian breadcrumbs
fresh parsley(chopped)
1/4c.Romano cheese
salt and pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Use a large sauce pan for this gravey.Put enough olive oil in the pan to cover the bottom of the pan.Heat oil,when oil is hot add the chopped onion,minced garlic.Put flame to low being sure not to burn the garlic.Add the sausage,and pork butt and brown.Take out the meat when browned and add the meatballs to brown.After the meatballs have all been browned add all the meat back to the pan.In a blender add 1 can Italian tomatoes,1 can tomato paste,6oz.water blend.Pour into saucepot.Repeat with all the cans of tomatoes.Add the rest of the ingredients,simmer on med-low for about 2-3 hrs.Stirring often.
