1 cup sugar
1/2 cup Karo Syrup (Dark or Light)
1 cup raw peanuts (may use unsalted dry roasted or mixed nuts)
1 tsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda

In a microwave safe glass bowl (6 cup capacity) mix together well sugar and syrup and cook on high for 4 min.

Remove from microwave, mix in peanuts stirring well. Return to microwave and cook on high for 3 min.

Remove from microwave, stir in butter and vanilla mixing well. Return to microwave and cook on high for 1 min.

Remove from oven, add baking soda stirring well until completely mixed.

CAUTION THE MIXTURE IS EXTREMELY HOT

Working quickly, spread mixture onto a greased or buttered cookie sheet or marble slab.

Let cool and break into desired pieces.

Grandma Clara Ready made this at Christmas time and it was a big hit. This recipe sure beats standing in front of a stove constantly stirring for an hour waiting for hard crack stage. It is quick and delicious.
