1 1/2 C. sugar
3 T. flour
3 T. cocoa
1 1/2 C. canned milk (carnation)
3 T. melted butter
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
cream of tartar
cooked pie shell

Directions:
Directions:
In medium size sauce pan, combine sugar, flour and cocoa.

Separate eggs (saving whites for topping.) In small bowl, beat egg yolks with small amount of milk. Add to dry ingredients and add vanilla, butter and rest of milk.

Cook over medium heat until thickens. Pour into cooked pie shell.

Beat egg whites until stands in peak. Add 1/2 tsp. vanilla, 1/4 C. sugar, 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar. Top pie with meringue. Cook in 350 degree oven until brown.
