Directions:
Shortbread crust: Mix together ingredients and press dough into a 13 by 9 by 2 inch pan and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until light golden brown.
While the crust is baking, mix together the ingredients for the filling. Turn the mixer on high and beat for 4 minutes. Pour over baked crust. Bake an additional 25-30 minutes. When cool, sprinkle powdered sugar over the surface. Cut into squares and if you are real creative, place a very small, thin slice of lemon to top of each bar.

Personal Notes:
Living in California has its advantages...such as lemon trees in our backyards that bear fruit all year long. What do you do when life gives you lemons, make lemon bars!
