1 cup sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/8 tsp. salt
1 cup raw peanuts
1 tablespoon butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda

Before starting the candy, butter a metal cookie/pizza sheet and measure out all of the ingredients because they must be added quickly.
A 2 quart microwavable bowl, wooden spoon and a timer are also necessary.

Begin cooking process by combining sugar, syrup and salt in the bowl. Microwave 5 - 7 minutes. It will help to keep an eye on the microwave! When mixture begins to brown, remove from oven. Add peanuts and quickly stir.

Return to microwave for 4 - 6 minutes (cook about the same amount of time as before). Remove and stir in the butter, vanilla and soda until completely mixed. Pour in prepared pan (it will be foamy and very hot). Tilt pan to spread. When cool, break into pieces.
