1 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg, beaten
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla (optional)
2 tbsp. butter, melted
1 1/2 - 2 c. sliced fresh strawberries
Topping:
1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. cold butter
1/2 c. chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
In a mixing bowl, add the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt; stir to mix. In a second bowl, add the egg, milk, and butter; stir to mix; add to dry ingredients and stir until just moistened. Pour mixture into a greased 8-inch baking dish. Place strawberries evenly over top of batter. To make the topping: combine flour and sugar in a bowl. With a pastry blender, cut in the butter until consistency of course crumbs. Stir in pecans. Sprinkle mixture evenly over strawberries. Bake at 375º for 30-35 minutes or until wooden toothpick inserted comes out clean. (You can drizzle powdered sugar, milk and vanilla icing on top of this as well.)
