1tbsp (1 envelope) unflavored gelatin
2 &1/2 c milk
1 pkg vanilla pudding
1/4 cup finely chopped maraschino cherries
2 tbsp sherry( not cooking sherry)
1/2 c chopped walnuts
1/2 pint heavy cream whipped

Directions:
Directions:
In a sauce pan soak gelatin in 1/2 c milk for 5 minutes. Stir in pudding and remaining milk.
Cook, stirring until thick, cool until luke warm.
Add cherries, sherry and walnuts. Fold in whipped cream. Pour into a 5c mold, chill until firm

This was grandpa's special recipe. He always supervised the making of this salad. It was a staple at a holiday or Sunday dinner.Grandpa and mom were always very strict about the diabetic diet. Except when it came to this salad.
