1 cup heavy cream, 1/2 cup milk, 3 eggs, 1/2 teaspoon powdered mustard, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/4 tsp. pepper, dash of cayenne pepper, 1/2 cups (6 ounces) grated Wisconsin Swiss cheese, 8 slices crisp cooked bacon, crumbled, unbaked 9 inch pie crust.

Heat oven to 375º. Beat heavy cream, milk, eggs, and seasonings in a bowl. Sprinkle cheese and bacon into pie crust. Pour cream mixture over cheese. Bake until firm and lightly browned, 40-45 minutes. Serve warm.

A ritual around the time of holidays was to go to Clasen's European bakery in Middleton. At Christmas there was a kid sized gingerbread house and a life-size egg around Easter, with treats available. This quiche is a holidayish breakfast made by Clasen's.
