Ingredients: I pound box of vanilla wafers 1 can sweetened condensed milk I pint shelled pecans 8 oz crystallized cherries 8 oz crystallized pineapples 1 box of white raisins 1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions: |
Directions:Crush vanilla wafers into fine crumbs and place in a large bowl. Chop pecans, cherries and pineapples into small pieces. Add to vanilla wafers. Stir in raisins, condensed milk and vanilla extract. Mix thoroughly. Make sure all wafer crumbs are moistened. Divide into two parts with well-floured hands. Mold into rolls about two and 1/2 inches in diameter. Wrap in waxed paper. Refrigerate overnight. Serve in half inch slices.

Notes: My mother (Jewell) used to make these every year at Christmas time. She would make a very limited number and dole them out to us a slice at a time. We loved it. Several of our childhood friends have contacted me over the years asking for this recipe. Must be good if they remembered it after 35 years! I was searching through an old box at my mom's house about 18 years ago and came across a stained, tattered index card with this recipe on it. I still have the card.
