1 ready to bake pie crust / or Jiffy mix pie crust
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
pinch of salt
1/2 cup packed brown sugar / light or dark
1/2 cup butter / or margarine (1 stick sliced)
1 cup flour
6 approximately medium sized apples (tart apples mixing apples) -- cord and sliced
2 egg whites (optional)

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º

Mold bottom crust to pie pan of choice.

In a large mixing bowl, blend nutmeg, sugar, cinnamon, salt, butter, brown sugar, and flour. Place sliced apples into mixture, and mix until all apples are coated. Pour apple mixture into bottom crust.

Optional: brush edges of crust with egg whites

Place top crust and bake at 350º for approximately 1 1/2 hours.
