2 squares baking chocolate
1 cup sugar
1 cup boiling water
1/2 stick butter
1 egg
1 tsp. baking soda
1 cup flour
1 tsp. vanilla

White frosting:

1 cup milk
4 tbsp. flour
1 cup Spry/Crisco
1 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Boil chocolate, sugar, and water for 5 minutes. Add butter and let cool. Add egg, baking soda, flour, and vanilla and beat together until smooth. Batter will be smooth and thin. Bake 30 minutes at 325º in an 8x8 pan.

Frosting:

Cook milk and flour until thickened and let cool. In a separate bowl, beat together Crisco, sugar, and vanilla until sugar dissolves, then add cool mixture. Beat until light and fluffy. (Make 1/2 this recipe for 8x8 cake).
