5-1/3 cups ground almonds
3-3/4 cups powdered sugar
3 egg whites
1/2 tsp almond flavoring

Icing

4-1/2 cups sifted powdered sugar
1 egg white
1 tsp white vinegar
1/2 tsp almond flavoring

Directions:
Directions:
Grease bottom and sides of heavy aluminum pan. Mix sugar and almonds in pan. Let stand for 10 minutes. Beat egg whites slightly and add 1/2 tsp. almond flavoring. Stir into sugar and almonds while warming slightly over low heat. Stir until dough sticks together. Turn out onto board and knead. If the dough gets sticky just let it rest a few minutes.
With palms of hands, roll into finger-size rolls and place in rings which have been greased and floured. Bake at 300º for 20 min. Fasten rings together with icing, decorate with sweets, petit-fours and Norwegian flags.
