1 Tbs cornstarch
1 pint (2cups) light cream, divided
4 egg yolks
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve cornstarch in 1/4 cup of cream. Beat egg yolks until light and combine with cornstarch. In a saucepan, heat remaining cream, but do not boil. Stir in sugar until dissolved. Pour 1 cup of this mixture over the yolks, stirring constantly.
Return all to the saucepan and cook over low heat 5 minutes or until slightly thickened. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Serve over dumplings. Chill, if not using right away. Makes over 2 cups.
