2 c. finely chopped almonds
1 c. butter
1 1/4 c. sugar
2 T. light corn syrup
2 T. water
12 ounce pkg. semi-sweet chocolate bits

Directions:
Directions:
Spread almonds in a shallow pan and toast in 350º oven until golden. Cook butter, sugar, syrup and water, stirring often to hard crack (300º). Remove from heat and stir in 1 cup of toasted nuts. Pour quickly into 13X9X2 pan and cool for 1 hour. When set, turn out on waxed paper and spread 1/2 of the chocolate which has been melted over the top and sprinkle with 1/2 cup of nuts. Repeat on other side when chocolate is firm.
